The Global Table
The Global Table is a monthly cultural cooking gathering where children explore the world through food, geography, history and traditions.
Each month, we select a theme inspired by a holiday, festival or significant cultural event. We begin with an engaging educational introduction using illustrated slides and learning materials to explore the people, places and traditions behind the celebration.
Then it's time to cook! All ingredients are provided, and children work together under guided instruction to prepare traditional dishes associated with that month's theme. Once the cooking is finished, everyone gathers around the table to enjoy the food they've made together.
The Global Table combines cultural education, practical cooking skills, collaboration and the simple pleasure of sharing a meal.

Location & What to Expect
The Global Table meets once a month in the Bywater neighbourhood of New Orleans.
Each gathering includes a guided cultural lesson, hands-on group cooking and a shared meal. All ingredients, cooking supplies and educational materials are provided.
Children cook together under instruction, learning practical kitchen skills while exploring the history and traditions behind the month's featured celebration.
The exact meeting location and event details are shared with participating families before each gathering.
