The Allium Project is a Kraft & Kind initiative dedicated to designing peaceful, purposeful spaces where children can learn, play and grow.
From sensory gardens and inviting playrooms to thoughtfully organised home classrooms and quiet reading corners, we believe a child's environment should nurture curiosity, creativity and a sense of belonging.
Our approach brings together thoughtful design, practical functionality and an understanding of children's diverse sensory and learning needs to create spaces that are as welcoming as they are beautiful.
Through personalised design consultations and space-planning services, The Allium Project helps families and educators transform existing spaces or develop new environments tailored to children's individual needs.
The Story Behind the Name
The Allium Project is named in memory of my daughter, Aisling, who passed away far too soon.
I remember sitting in a park, watching children laugh and play, when my attention was drawn to an allium flower. Its delicate blossoms were drifting away in the breeze, and I found myself thinking about how something so beautiful could be so fleeting. As I watched the children around me, I thought of all the simple joys of childhood that Aisling would never experience.
That memory stayed with me, as did the belief that childhood is something precious, deserving of beauty, imagination and wonder.
The Allium Project is one way I honour Aisling's memory. Through the creation of thoughtful gardens, playrooms and learning spaces, I hope to give other children places where they can explore, discover, feel safe and experience the simple happiness of being a child.
What began as a moment of sadness has become an opportunity to create something beautiful in her name.

We believe beautiful design and practical accessibility should go hand in hand. Whether creating a peaceful retreat, an imaginative playroom or a flexible learning environment, our aim is to balance comfort, independence and opportunities for exploration.
Our approach draws on principles of inclusive design, child development and thoughtful use of natural materials, lighting, colour and texture. The result is a space that reflects the child rather than expecting the child to adapt to the space.
